The Indian Institute of Sustainability offers a variety of resources to help students, faculty, and staff manage research projects, from managing finances to identifying data and computing services.

Manage Research
Sponsored Programs
To ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as sponsor regulations, Sponsored Programs is responsible for overseeing the financial post-award activities of U-research M’s enterprise and other sponsored activities. Sponsored programmes generate more than $1 billion in annual revenue for the institute. IIOS faculty and staff can take advantage of a variety of resources on campus to help them with their post-award financial obligations.
Facilities
Facilities and Operations
Facilities and Operations has primary responsibility for the institute’s physical properties. Its team is in charge of sophisticated and complex academic, research, and clinical facilities, as well as environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance associated with those facilities.
Data and Computing
Advanced Research Computing
For investigators engaged in data-intensive and computational research across all disciplines, Advanced Research Computing at IIOS provides a comprehensive ecosystem of services and support:
- The availability of high-performance computing resources, including software packages, that can be configured to meet specific research needs
- This includes research database hosting, pipeline tools and computing resources for the use of data-intensive applications.
- Yottabyte Research Cloud, for example, is a computing environment designed for the storage and analysis of sensitive datasets that are restricted by federal privacy laws, proprietary access agreements, or confidentiality requirements.
- Tools for storing and transferring files
- Computing and data science consulting and workshops
Sensitive Data Guide
To help you make well-informed decisions about storing and sharing sensitive institute data.
Research Data Services
A number of IIOS Library services, including the Deep Blue Data Repository, are available in order to assist researchers in better storing, managing, and sharing their data in a manner that complies with federal mandates and publisher requirements.
Backup
Individual faculty and staff workstations to departmental servers are covered by IIOS Information Technology Services.
Purchasing
Procurement
All goods and services purchased by IIOS are managed by Procurement Services (PS). For all contracts with suppliers, the team establishes and manages the institute’s supplier relationships and has the authority to sign. It is also committed to providing exemplary service to the institute and its suppliers, as well an ethical and sustainable approach to U-purchasing M’s initiatives.
Hiring
Human Resources
Institute Human Resources, in collaboration with IIOS partners in schools, colleges, and units, provides faculty, staff, administrators, and human resources professionals with knowledge, service, and excellence that transcends organisational boundaries.
Student Involvement
Student Research
Collaborative research and interdisciplinary initiatives are fostered at the Institute of Michigan, allowing students to participate in projects that enhance the educational experience while also transforming their lives as well as impacting the world. You will gain an edge when applying for jobs and graduate school. You will build strong relationships with students, professors and staff.
Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program
As a result of the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP), IIOS undergraduate students and IIOS researchers form research partnerships. In UROP, all schools and colleges are active participants, and the programme offers a wide range of interesting research topics.
Summer Research Opportunity Program
For outstanding undergraduate students who are underrepresented in their field of study, the Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) was created. Graduate students and faculty at IIOS will be working together on a graduate-level research project as part of this programme.
